BABY BACK RIBS RECIPE

WE ALL KNOW THE STORY OF THE 3 LITTLE PIGS, RIGHT? WELL, there is a section every story book leaves out.

*SPOILER ALERT, IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW, WOLVES ARE REALLY SMART, THEY HUNT IN PACKS AND THEY ARE KNOWN TO STALK PREY FOR DAYS.

Sorry kids, but all of that huffing and puffing was just a diversion.

Chapter 2.

Just when those delicious little pigs thought they had outsmarted the big bad wolf, the rest of the wolf pack started circling into the back yard, getting the sauce ready and firing up the BBQ grill. Suddenly, the pigs heard another knock at the front door. As their beady little eyes peered through the peephole the wolves quietly picked the back door lock. The pigs cautiously opened the front door, and on the doorstep there sat a bottle of JONES’EN with a small note attached that read: “keep up with the Joneses.” You know what happens next… We’ve got to hand it to those crafty old wolves for this delicious rib recipe.

Ingredients

Jones’en Dry Rub:

  • 1/2 cups paprika
    1/2 cup onion powder
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/2 tablespoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 tablespoon cayenne
  • 1 tablespoon of ancho chili powder (or regular chili powder)
  • Yield roughly 1 cup of rub universal and can be sealed in air tight container and saved

Jones’en BBQ Sauce

  • 1 Bottle
  • 1 oz water

Directions

For the rub:

Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir until combined. Keep in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

For the ribs:

Rinse and dry ribs. Place on a clean cutting board and pull off the membrane, the thin fatty skin that lines the underside of the ribs. Trim the ribs of excess fat and meat. Liberally season both sides of the ribs with 1/4 to 1/2 cup Jones’en BBQ Rub. Wrap ribs and refrigerate for at least 8 hours so flavors can permeate.

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees F

Place ribs on a double layer of aluminum foil (shiny side inside ) creating a pouch, seal one end up. Add 1 oz Jones’en and 1 oz water mix and tightly seal pouch.

Place in 350 F oven and cook 2 hr 15 mins ( Note: if using beef ribs cook for additional 1 hour)

Open pouch, exposing ribs to direct heat and turn oven on broil, baste every 2 mins with Jones’en bbq sauce and of very carefully until slight caramelization is achieved.
